What is Selank?

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide built from the sequence of the endogenous tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), extended by Pro-Gly-Pro. The extension makes the molecule more stable.

Like Semax, Selank was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Both peptides share the stabilising C-terminal motif.
